Bayshore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Located on Route 36 in Hazlet, New Jersey, Bayshore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu proudly serves the community of The Jersey Shore. We offer a clean, friendly, safe, and family-focused learning and training environment for men, women, and children of all ages and backgrounds. We are focused on helping people achieve their human potential through the many life lessons learned through martial arts. This includes pushing yourself out of your comfort zones, learning something new and learning more about yourself, challenging yourself, meeting and becoming friends with like-minded individuals looking to grow and improve themselves.

Facilities

We are located within a major shopping hub on Route 36 in Hazlet. Our neighbors include TWe are in a brand new 3,000 square foot facility with many great amenities for our students that includes

• New Cushioned Fuji Mats - 1,500 square feet of Fuji mats with double layer cushioning. Fuji Mats are considered the best, premium mats on the market and are used in major Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, grappling, and Judo matches. The mats were designed to the specifications of Olympic Judo Coach Jimmy Pedro and are the same mats used at The United States Judo Training Center.

• Men’s and Women’s Changing Rooms - We have both men’s and women’s changing rooms equipped with lockers to change into your training outfits and store your clothes and bags.

• Pro Shop - We sell Bayshore BJJ branded kids and adult kimonos, rashguards, sweatshirts and t-shirts at our academy. All of our products were made to the specifications of Professor Joe and are built to withstand the rigors of training.

• Coffee - We know the days can be long and hard on the body. So we offer coffee at our academy that can be purchased so students can get energized before and after class.

Professor Joe Dockery

Joe Dockery is a lifelong resident of Hazlet, New Jersey and currently resides in Hazlet with his wife Jessica and son Gunnar. He is a graduate of Raritan High School where he was a Varsity Letterman on The Cross-Country and Track & Field Teams. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Communications from The College of New Jersey.

Joe is a Team Renzo Gracie Black Belt and has trained and competed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over decade. His major competition accolades includes 5 Gold Medals in Pan and Masters Worlds competition. His passionate for martial arts and teaching drove him to become a Kids and Adult instructor for The Renzo Gracie Team where he has over fives years as a Head Kids Coach and Adult Instructor with an emphasis on self-defense and sports competition in both the kimono and NoGi style.
